Rental Information
A practical summary of what customers should know before collecting a Rent Ease vehicle. Vehicle-specific conditions are confirmed with each reservation.
Booking and confirmation
Submitting the website form creates a booking request. A reservation is confirmed only when Rent Ease confirms vehicle availability and the agreed pickup details directly with the customer.
What to bring
- A valid driving licence for each authorised driver.
- A valid passport or national identity document.
- Any additional document required for the particular rental or licence type.
Where a licence is not readily understandable in Mauritius, an international driving permit or recognised translation may be requested.
Driver and vehicle conditions
Only drivers authorised in the rental agreement may drive the vehicle. Minimum age, licence-holding period, deposit/security requirements and any young-driver or additional-driver conditions depend on the vehicle and insurance arrangement and will be disclosed before confirmation.
Rental period, pickup and return
Pickup may be arranged at SSR International Airport, a hotel or another agreed location. Rental timing, return location, fuel level and any applicable late-return conditions are stated in the booking confirmation or rental agreement.
Payment and security deposit
Rent Ease currently offers Pay on Arrival / Pay Later booking requests. No online card payment is taken by this website. Any security deposit, payment method or pre-authorisation required for the rental will be communicated before the vehicle is handed over.
Insurance and excess
Insurance protection, exclusions and the renter’s financial responsibility depend on the vehicle and selected coverage. The applicable excess/deposit and any optional protection are stated in the rental agreement. Customers should review those conditions before signing.
Accidents, theft and breakdowns
Contact Rent Ease immediately after an accident, theft, warning light or breakdown. Follow police and insurer requirements where applicable, do not admit liability on behalf of Rent Ease, and do not arrange non-emergency repairs without authorisation.
Traffic offences and responsible use
The renter remains responsible for traffic, parking and other offences incurred during the rental. The vehicle must be used lawfully, safely and only for its intended purpose. Smoking, reckless use, unauthorised drivers and other misuse may result in cleaning, repair or other charges where permitted by the rental agreement.
