Common questions about booking, payment, airport collection and the Rent Ease commercial terms.
What do I need to rent a car?
A valid driving licence and passport are required. Mauritius residents should also provide their identity card. An accepted payment method is required for the Rs 25,000 security deposit.
How much is the security deposit?
The standard security deposit is Rs 25,000. The standard insurance excess is also Rs 25,000, subject to the rental agreement and exclusions.
Can I pay on arrival?
Yes. Choose Pay on arrival in the booking form and settle the rental amount at vehicle collection unless otherwise agreed.
Can I choose Pay later?
Yes. Rent Ease can first confirm availability and then send the payment instructions or agreed payment timing.
What is the cancellation rule?
At least 72 hours' notice is requested. If you need to cancel inside 72 hours, contact Rent Ease as soon as possible so the vehicle can be released.
What happens if I do not arrive?
A confirmed booking is normally held for four hours after the reserved pickup time. If you are delayed, contact Rent Ease so the vehicle is not released unnecessarily.
Can I collect at SSR International Airport?
Yes. Add your flight number and arrival details to the booking so the pickup can be coordinated.
Can the car be delivered to my hotel?
Yes, hotel/accommodation delivery can be requested and confirmed based on location and availability.
Is mileage unlimited?
Yes, unlimited mileage is included for normal rental use in Mauritius, subject to the rental agreement.
Is the car insured?
Comprehensive insurance is included, subject to a Rs 25,000 excess. Tyres/equipment and personal property are excluded from the standard cover.
Is there a cleaning fee?
The car is delivered clean. Rs 600 may be charged when extra cleaning is required because trash, dirt or crumbs have been left in the vehicle.
What if my confirmed car is unavailable?
Rent Ease will arrange an upgrade or appropriate replacement where operationally possible.
