Terms & Conditions
These terms govern use of the Rent Ease website and form part of the information provided before a vehicle rental. The signed rental agreement and confirmed booking details govern the individual rental.
1. Booking requests
Website submissions are requests, not automatic confirmations. Rent Ease may confirm an equivalent vehicle category if the requested model is unavailable, but any substitution will be communicated before the rental.
2. Authorised drivers
The renter must ensure that every driver meets the legal and insurance requirements communicated by Rent Ease. The vehicle may not be driven by a person who is not authorised under the rental agreement.
3. Vehicle handover and condition
The customer should inspect the vehicle at handover and ensure existing visible damage, fuel level, equipment and documents are recorded. The vehicle must be returned in the agreed condition, subject to normal wear.
4. Permitted use
The vehicle must not be used for unlawful activity, racing, speed testing, towing unless authorised, driving under the influence, deliberate misuse, or any use prohibited by the rental agreement or insurance policy.
5. Payment, deposit and charges
Rental price, payment method, deposit/security requirement and applicable additional charges are confirmed for the specific rental. Costs caused by loss, damage, excessive cleaning, missing fuel, lost keys/documents, fines or other breaches may be charged where allowed by the rental agreement and applicable law.
6. Insurance, damage and theft
The level of cover and applicable excess vary by vehicle and insurance package. Protection may be reduced or invalidated by prohibited use, unauthorised drivers, serious negligence, failure to report an incident, or other exclusions stated in the rental agreement or insurer terms.
7. Accidents and breakdowns
The renter must promptly contact Rent Ease, protect the vehicle from further loss, obtain relevant details from other parties and witnesses, and follow police-report requirements where applicable. Repairs require Rent Ease authorisation except where immediate action is necessary for safety.
8. Fines and administration
The renter is responsible for traffic and parking offences arising during the rental. Where Rent Ease must identify the renter or process a fine, an administration charge may apply if disclosed in the rental agreement.
9. Final rental agreement
Vehicle-specific commercial terms—including minimum age, licence period, deposit, excess, optional coverage, additional-driver charges, late-return conditions and other fees—will be disclosed before or at confirmation. If there is a conflict, the signed rental agreement and mandatory Mauritius law take priority.
